Block 1
basic seminar 1:
Goal setting: Understanding the functional psycho-physiological mechanisms behind neurofeedback and learning, how to affect this processes in a ethical guided therapeutic meaning; Historic overview and theoretical backgrounds of neurofeedback; Learning-theory; Neurophysiology; Neuroanatomy; Essential terminology and concept of EEG; Methods of Signal recordings; Analysis of EEG-datas; Relevant empirical knowledge out of meaningful neuroscience studies (neuroplasticity,, mirror-cells, functional brain-dynamics); Impact of Neurofeedback as therapy in past and presence; Practical experience with EEG-recording, artefact detection, analysis and interpretation of data; First simple neurofeedback-sessions.
basic seminar 2:
Goal setting: Handling of more complex Neurofeedback-interventions, offside of therapeutic interventions; Functional diagnosis under consideration of EEG-recordings; Application of more complex Neurofeedback-sessions under consideration of different frequency-windows and recording-positions; Neurofeedback as a method of behavioural regulation in a complementary way; Peak-performance-training in non-therapeutic sessions; Neurofeedback method used for prevention of addiction; Practical shaping of more complex neurofeedback-sessions; Psychopharmacological impact.
Block 2
Neurofeedback application in the clinical setting:
Goal setting: The use of Neurofeedback in a therapeutic setting; Specific differentiation between training and therapy; Meaning of Neurofeedback intervention due to the ethical, clinical and professional pertinence; Scientific evidence about the relevance of Neurofeedback treating clinical relevant disorders (ADHS, epilepsy, depression, addiction, sleep-disorders, fear, tinnitus, etc. ); Planning of treatment and execution within the scope of a extensive differentiated diagnosis; Compilation of a treatment protocol in relation to the disorder; Accompanying interpretation of EEG-recordings due to the therapeutic progress; Hand-on experience related to the disorders; Specific protocols in Neurofeedback with scientific background; different schools in the method; Slow cortical potentials; Hemoenecephalography (HEG) – Alternativ signals in affecting functional brain dynamics; critical view and overview.
Neurofeedback beyond limitations – experienced application:
Goal setting: The ethical limits of Neurofeedback; Ethic rules; Philosophical considerations; therapeutic goal setting; Snares of pseudo-scientific intervention; Evidence for Neurofeedback-guided mind-altering methods; Neurofeedback-guided supervision; Discussing the philosophical conflict of the free will; Neurofeedback in the focus of a new understanding of humanism.
Block 3
Seminar – hand-on experience:
The practical days are guiding the participants in gathering experience using the neurofeedback as a instrument of intervention. This seminar is highly practical guided. This contains: Practical build-up of a neurofeedback session; Arrangements of the intervention ambience (room, diagnostic equipment etc.); Handling of the technical neurofeedback equipment; Introduction of the patient; Arrangement and carrying out of the session; Closure of the session; Data-preparation and interpretation; Further adjustments ; Debriefing and questions
